BIG RAPIDS, MI – On February 20th, 2021, at 2:15 am, Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a traffic crash west of Big Rapids on Maddison Road near 220th Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene the driver and passenger fled into the woods. The driver, Timothy James Cousins, 46-years-old, of Reed City, who is on parole for Bank Robbery, was subsequently caught, then tazored and placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended and Resisting Arrest/Assaulting Police Officer.

The passenger was also caught and later released.

On February 22nd Timothy Cousins was arraigned in the 77th District Court on the Driving While Licensed Suspended and Felony Resisting Arrest/Assaulting a Police Officer.

He remains in custody on a $40,000 Surety Bond and awaits his Preliminary Exam along with a Parole Hearing.
