MT. CLEMENS, MI – A Mt. Clemens Man was arrested for Assault with Intent to Murder on Sunday February 21st, 2021. On February 22nd, 2021, the incident was presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. A two-count warrant was authorized on Jamar Bannerman, 22-years-old, of Mt. Clemens:
- Count 1: Assault With Intent To Murder (felony)
- Count 2: Weapons – Felony Firearm (felony)
Upon his being booked into the Macomb County Jail, Bannerman became agitated during the telephone registration process and slammed the phone down, damaging it. Bannerman then attempted to strike one of the corrections deputies and had to be placed into a restraint chair. As Bannerman was being checked by a jail staff nurse, Bannerman spit at the nurse and was placed into a spit mask. This information was also presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. A second warrant was issued with three additional counts were authorized:
- Count 1: Assault of Prison Employee (felony)
- Count 2: Assault of Prison Employee (felony)
- Count 3: Malicious Destruction of Building – Less than $200 (misdemeanor)
Bannerman was arraigned in the 41B Clinton Township District Court. He was arraigned on the above charges and given a $100,000.00 bond. He is scheduled to return to the 41B Clinton Township District Court on 03/09/21 at 1:00pm for a probable cause conference. It is believed at this time that this incident began over an argument involving a weapon.
