Assault Suspect 6400 Van Dyke

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect wanted in connection to savage beating to a BP gas station employee that occurred on the city’s east side.

On Wednesday February 24th, 2021, in the 6400 block of Van Dyke, a 30-year-old male employee and an unknown male suspect got into a verbal altercation inside of the gas station. The suspect went behind the counter and began beating the victim with his fist multiple times.

After the suspect had finished beating on his victim, he fled the scene in an unknown direction in a Silver Chrysler Town and Country Van.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect responsible for this incident is described as a black male in his 40’s, dark complexion, heavy build, about 350lbs., with grey and black facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hat, dark blue hoodie, with grey shorts, and black boots.
