DETROIT, MI – On Saturday March 6th, 2021, at approximately 2:10 AM, Michigan State Police Troopers from the Metro South Post were dispatched to southbound Southfield Freeway and Joy Road for a traffic crash.
The preliminary investigation found that the non at fault driver, the victim, of a passenger vehicle indicated that they noticed a Ford Fusion traveling at a high rate of speed in their rear view mirror.
The victims vehicle was struck by the Ford Fusion. The Fusion rolled over after impact partially ejecting the driver. The at fault driver of the Ford Fusion was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her next of kin have been notified.
The victim had minor injuries and was treated by EMS. The freeway was closed for several hours for the investigation. The investigation continues.
