GLADWIN, MI – Michigan State Police have arrested a man for the alleged sexual assault of an elderly relative who is in hospice care.

On March 18, 2021 at approximately 6:59 p.m., troopers from the Mount Pleasant Post were dispatched to an address in Franklin Township in Clare County regarding Criminal Sexual Conduct allegations.

The victim was found to be an elderly woman in hospice care. The trooper’s investigation led to contact with the suspect, a 46-year-old Gladwin man, who is a family member of the victim.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of the suspect for Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, Criminal Sexual Conduct Fourth Degree, and Vulnerable Adult Abuse First Degree. The suspect was lodged in the Clare County Jail pending arraignment.
