DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a male suspect wanted in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on the city’s east side.
On February 19th, 2021, at approximately 11:20 a.m., in the 10600 block of E Outer Drive, a man (John Doe) was sitting in the driver’s seat of a silver Ford Fusion parked at a gas pump, when a light color older model Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe pulled alongside of his vehicle and an unknown armed male suspect inside, seated in the rear passenger seat, fired multiple shots into the victims vehicle.
After the shooting the suspect vehicle drove away then returned moments later and fired additional shots into the vehicle fatally wounding the victim. After this incident, the suspects vehicle fled north on Wayburn.
After being struck, the victim’s vehicle accelerated forward and struck the wall of the gas station building.
Medics arrived on scene, and pronounced the victim Dead Upon Arrival.
The suspect responsible for this incident is described as a black male, wearing a light colored jacket, dark-colored hat, and a light-colored facemask, armed with a handgun.
