Trooper was on duty heading to emergency call

SAULT STE MARIE, MI – A trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Sault Ste. Marie Post was involved in an on-duty crash with another vehicle near 3 Mile Road and M-129 Highway in Soo Township.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:50pm on Wednesday March 24th, 2021. The trooper was responding to a hold-up alarm at a local government building. While en route, the trooper was hit by another vehicle attempting to turn into a private driveway. The trooper was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. The occupants of the other vehicle were treated and released at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
