DETROIT, MI – Photos were released by the Detroit Police Department of suspects who they need help to identify and locate for a carjacking that took place in late March.

The Detroit Police Department needs the public’s assistance in identifying and locating four male suspects wanted in connection with a carjacking that occurred on the city’s west side.

On Friday, March 26, 2021 at approximately 9:20 p.m. suspect # 1 (black male, wearing a camoflauge jacket) stole a gold 2011 Chevy Equinox that was left running at a gas station in the 12700 block of W. 8 Mile Rd. At 1:20 a.m., the other three suspects were seen exiting the vehicle after they crashed into some bushes in a parking lot located in the 5800 block of Southfield Fwy. SD.

The suspects ran to the 18400 block of Ford Rd. and carjacked a 32-year-old man and fled in the victim’s 2014 Volkswagon Jetta. At approximately 1:46 a.m. the suspects and vehicle were observed at a gas station (Green Light Partner) located in the 20800 block of W. Seven Mile Rd. As officers arrived, suspects took off at a high rate of speed, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole at Clarita and Kentfield. The suspects then fled on foot. A weapon was recovered from the Jetta.

The suspects are described as a black males between the ages of 16 and 18 years old.
