CRAWFORD COUNTY, MI – On Sunday afternoon, February 7th, 2021, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on south bound I-75 near mile marker 269 in Maple Forest Township.
The driver, 56-year-old Edward Ronald Davis from Flint, showed signs of intoxication and there was an open bottle of liquor in the vehicle. He was transported to Grayling Munson and later Traverse City Munson for injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle was registered to a relative who did not give Davis permission to take it. Through the investigation it was revealed that Davis had broken into the relative’s home and stolen the keys.

Davis was arraigned today in the 46th District Court in Crawford County for one count Felony Operating While Intoxicated Third Offense, one count Breaking and Entering, one count Unlawful Driving Away Motor Vehicle, one count Open Alcohol in Vehicle, and one count Operating Without a License. His next schedule court appearance is on May 11, 2021.
