LINCOLN PARK, MI – Autumn Chenell Tate, 28-years-old, of Lincoln Park, is being charged in connection with the murder of her newborn child.

On March 6th, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Lincoln Park police were dispatched to the 4000 block of Fort Street in Lincoln Park for report for a suspicious situation. Upon arrival, the officers located a plastic bag with the deceased newborn inside. An investigation by the Lincoln Park Police Department led to the arrest of Autumn Tate on March 30th, 2021. It is alleged that she gave birth beside a lake near her residence. It is also alleged that Tate threw the infant into a garbage bag before abandoning him.

Autumn Tate has been charged with One Count of Felony Murder, One Count of First-Degree Child Abuse, and One Count of Abandonment of a Child. She is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in 25th District Court.
