CHEBOYGAN COUNTY, MI. In December of 2019, a man contacted the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post to report someone had cashed a check from his deceased uncle’s estate.

The complainant was the executor of his uncle’s estate and said his uncle had paid off his mortgage a few days before having a stroke. A check was issued for the balance of his escrow and cashed by a person who was living with his uncle, 69-year-old Linda Suzanne Allen, after his uncle suffered the stroke and passed away shortly thereafter.

An investigation followed and an arrest warrant was issued for Allen on June 30, 2020. Due to COVID restrictions she was not arrested. After COVID restrictions were lifted she turned herself in on April 14, 2021.

Allen arraigned in the 89th District Court in Cheboygan on one count Felony Forgery. Allen was released on a $5,000 PR bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on April 30,2021 at 9:00 a.m.
