DETROIT, MI – Charles Feiler, 50-years-old, of Detroit, is now facing charges in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a seven-year-old girl.

On April 14, 2021, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Detroit police were dispatched to a shooting at a residence in the 9800 block of Appoline Street in Detroit. Upon arrival, officers discovered Charles Feiler running inside his home. He eventually turned himself in after refusing to come out for several hours and was arrested at the Appoline location on April 15th, 2021.

It is alleged that an argument between Feiler and the mother of the victim, 25-years-old, of Detroit, escalated, and he fired a rifle three times, striking the child on the left side of her back. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Charles Feiler has been charged with five counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, five counts of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, one count of Second Degree Child Abuse, one count of Felon in Possession, five counts of Felonious Assault, and 17 counts of Felony Firearm. He was arraigned on April 21, 2021 in 36th District Court and given a $500,000 cash/surety bond. His Probable Cause Conference is on April 28, 2021 and his Preliminary Examination is on May 5, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Roberta Archer.
