HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, MI – At 9:58 PM on Tuesday April 27th, 2021, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Highland Township Fire Department (HTFD) responded to the 2000 block of Jackson Boulevard on the report of a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a 36-year-old woman who stated that she and her 38-year-old boyfriend, who resides in Fraser, had a verbal altercation over money and then it later became physical. The suspect had fled the scene prior to the deputies arrival.

Highland Township Fire Department arrived on scene, paramedics rendered aid to the injured woman. She refused to be taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Deputies that responded to the scene spoke further with the victim. She stated that the suspect had taken her vehicle without her permission. Deputies advised her to contact them in the event he returns and cleared the scene. Deputies made contact with the suspect on the phone. He refused to meet with deputies in person.

Moments later, the victim contacted the Sheriff’s Operation Center again to advise that suspect had returned in her vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the vehicle had been driven through a fence and then abandoned.

An OCSO K9 Unit responded to the scene and initiated a track. The suspect was located hiding under a pine tree in the backyard of a nearby residence. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of charges.
