LIVONIA, MI – On Monday April 26th, 2021, Livonia Police arrested Cody Mahon, 30-years-old, of Livonia, on Felony Warrants charging him with Fleeing and Eluding as well as several other outstanding arrest warrants.

Mahon is alleged to have fled from Livonia Police in a red Pontiac G6 on three occasions on April 24, 2021. Mahon is alleged to have also fled from Redford Township and Farmington Hills officers in recent days. Police were assisted in identifying Mahon due to his multiple Facebook live stream posts he made of the pursuits.

On April 24, 2021, around 4:30 p.m., a Livonia Police Officer observed a red Pontiac G6 with no license plate driven by a white male in the area of Merriman and Schoolcraft. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time it fled eastbound on I-96. The pursuit was eventually terminated. Shortly after this pursuit, Livonia Police officers became aware that this incident had been live streamed on Facebook and they developed Mahon as the suspect.

At 6:00 p.m., officers observed Mahon in the Pontiac G6 westbound on I-96. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Mahon again fled by exiting at Farmington and then re-entering eastbound I-96. This pursuit was terminated.

At 11:30 p.m. Livonia Police received multiple 911 calls of a reckless driver in the area of Farmington and Schoolcraft. Multiple callers reported that a red Pontiac G6 was doing “donuts” in the intersection. Officers arrived on scene and located Mahon and his vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop and he fled again westbound on I-96. This pursuit was terminated.

On April 26, 2021, investigators located Mahon on foot near the Pontiac G6 in the parking lot of Walmart in Van Buren Township. He was safely taken into custody without incident and the Pontiac G6 was impounded.Mahon was arraigned in the 16th District Court of Livonia on three counts of flee and elude. Mahon’s next scheduled court appearance is May 6th at 9:00 am and bond was set in the amount of $100,000, 10%.
