PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 300 block of South Sanford for the report of shots fired.

Deputies spoke with the 27-year-old complainant who stated that she was the victim of a domestic assault that deputies had responded to earlier in the day. The complainant stated that her 27-year-old boyfriend had assaulted her and left prior to deputies’ arrival. She also stated that the suspect had stolen her car keys, house keys, and her pistol during the assault.

The woman stated that at 3:48PM she was sitting in a vehicle on the street near her home when a silver truck drove by. The back window of the truck rolled down and she heard a single gunshot. The complainant stated that she thought the shot had originated from inside the truck, however, she could not see inside due to it having tinted windows. The complainant did not recognize the truck but was concerned that her boyfriend may have been inside.

Deputies offered the victim transportation to Haven or a family member’s home to which she declined. The victim stated that her friend was taking her to a safe location. Deputies located a single 9mm casing in the roadway and tagged it into evidence and analysis by the OCSO lab. The stolen pistol was a 9mm. The suspect has not been located.
