PONTIAC, MI – On Sunday May 9th, 2021, at 12:08AM, Oakland County Sheriff Deputies and Star EMS responded to the Phoenix Place Apartments located at 47251 Woodward Avenue on the report of a woman who was bleeding, carrying a knife and had stated that someone tried to kill her.
Upon arrival, Deputies located the 27-year-old woman in the lobby. She did not have a knife in her possession. She stated to Deputies she had stabbed a man in an upstairs apartment because he had attempted to kill her.
Deputies checked on the welfare of the 75-year-old man in the apartment. He was found lying on the floor in the apartment with multiple lacerations. Star EMS arrived on the scene and rendered aid. Paramedics transported the victim to McLaren Oakland Hospital for additional treatment. The victim suffered lacerations to his head, face, arms, and tongue. He had also been stabbed in the chest and cheek. He is listed in critical condition. He is the grandfather to the woman who stabbed him.
Deputies spoke to the victim who stated he had been sleeping in his bedroom when the woman came in and attacked him with a large knife. The victim stated he had no idea why he was attacked. The suspect and her granddaughter had contacted him several hours prior to the incident stating that she had nowhere to live. He told her that she could stay with him and sleep on the couch.
Detectives arrived on the scene and began their investigation. An OCSO Evidence Technician processed the scene. The woman had a laceration on her hand, was treated by paramedics and released at the scene. She was taken into custody without incident and lodged at Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of charges.
