OSSINEKE, MI – On Saturday, April 17th, 2021, at approximately 11:20 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post responded to a report of a white Chevrolet Impala running into other vehicles at an apartment parking lot on State Street in Sanborn Township.
Troopers located the damaged suspect vehicle on Ossineke Road and made a traffic stop. The driver, 20-year-old Kristy Ann Clay, from Ossineke, stated she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument. Clay alleged her boyfriend pushed her around the driveway with his vehicle.
Troopers spoke with her boyfriend who was at the scene of the reported incident. He stated they had gotten into an argument and when she was leaving their apartment, she rammed his car that was unoccupied and partially blocking her car. He saw her ram his vehicle from inside the apartment and tried to stop her. She then allegedly tried to run him over. He got inside his vehicle and she rammed it again while he was seated inside. Clay then fled the scene. There was also slight damage to another vehicle in the parking lot from the white Impala striking it. Neither party was injured from the incident.
A report was submitted to the Alpena County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was authorized for Clay on May 4, 2021. Clay was arrested at her residence on May 10, 2021 and lodged in the Alpena County Jail.
Clay was arraigned this week in the 88th District Court in Alpena for one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, one count Malicious Destruction of Property, and on count Operating with No License. She was given a $15,000 PR bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on May 24, 2021.
