MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI – Macomb County Sheriff Deputies will be shutting down roads and ask that travelers avoid the area. 22 Mile Rd, both Eastbound and Westbound will be shut down from Garfield to Walnut due to a gas leak.

The FD requests that resident’s shelter in place in the immediate area of Monarch Drive. We will advise when the roadway is open.

The MCSO and the Macomb Township FD have responded to a report of a gas leak near 22 Mile Rd. and Monarch in Macomb Township. The presence of gas has been detected as workers in the area have hit a gas line. Consumers Energy has been notified and are on scene.
