DETROIT, MI – Jujuan Keenan Parks, 30-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with three separate occurrences that took place on the west side of Detroit.
On December 3rd, 2019, Jujuan Parks was also charged in connection with the homicide of Detroit Police Department (DPD) officer Rasheen McClain. He currently has a jury trial scheduled for August 30, 2021 before Judge Bruce Morrow in Third Circuit Court.
Discharge at a Building in the 20040 block of Wyoming Avenue
On October 30, 2019 at approximately 10:19 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant was put out of a residence in the 20040 block of Wyoming Avenue. It is further alleged that Defendant Parks returned to the residence and shot through the front window before fleeing.
Defendant Parks has been charged with one count of Discharge at a Building, one count of Felon in Possession, and one count of Second-Degree Felony Firearm.
Fatal Shooting in the 10620 block of Devine Street
On November 17, 2019 at approximately 2:30 p.m. it is alleged that the defendant fatally shot Nathaniel Loyd, 34, of Detroit. On November 26, 2019 Detroit Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 10620 block of Devine Street. While there the officers observed the lifeless body of the victim inside of the home. He was transported to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Officer where it was determined that he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Defendant Parks has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder.
Fatal Shooting in the 10550 block of Knodell Street
On November 18, 2019 at approximately 2:20 p.m. it is alleged that the defendant fatally shot Dontez Lavarr Calhoun, 31, of Detroit and injured another victim before fleeing on foot. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced Mr. Calhoun deceased and transported the second victim to a local hospital for treatment.
Defendant Parks has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Felon in Possession, and one count of Second-Degree Felony Firearm.
He is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court.
