PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 200 block of High Street on the report of male subjects exchanging gunfire. The complainant reported that a 31-year-old man from Pontiac, who was wearing a red shirt, had exited a black Ford Mustang with a loud exhaust and began shooting into a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Prior to Deputies arrival all involved parties had fled the scene. Shortly thereafter, a report came in of a white Jeep that had run off the roadway, gone through two fences before coming to a rest in the 400 block of Cesar Chavez Avenue at one of the historic buildings of the Oakland County History Center. Deputies responded to the location and discovered a 39-year-old Pontiac man who had been shot in the chest and face seated in the white Jeep. Star EMS was summoned to the scene, paramedics rendered aid and then transported the victim to McLaren Oakland Hospital. He is currently listed in critical condition.

Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. An OCSO Evidence Technician processed the scene. Six 9mm shell casings were collected and logged into evidence for Sheriff’s lab analysis.
