TROY, MI – Mark this as lesson learned when ‘hanging out with a friend’. At least we can hope she learned from this mistake. A Troy woman became a victim when her ‘friend’ about stole her blind.

In the 1000 block of Golfview Drive on May 9th, 2021, between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:49 PM, the victim was hanging out were her 35-year-old “friend” from Eastpointe, when he got up and told her he was going to his car to get some food.

When he didn’t return, she walked into the living room and noticed her Louis Vuitton purse was missing. Inside the purse were a pair of sunglasses, her Drivers License, approximately $700 in cash, and her two debit cards.

When she contacted her friend, she told him that he wasn’t going to get away with stealing her property. He replied, “I already did get away with it”. He also advised her that he was already in the area of Joy and Wyoming roads in the City of Detroit. The suspect told the victim that she could find her keys and money at the West Big Beaver Road entrance to her parking lot. The victim was only able to locate her keys in the grass.
