MONTMORENCY COUNTY, MI – On Friday, May 28th, 2021 a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post responded to MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena for a report of a stabbing.
The victim, a 24-year-old Alpena woman, went to the medical center for a severe laceration on her back. The victim alleged she and her boyfriend, 31-year-old Justin John Slieff from Hillman, had an argument at his residence in Hillman. While she had her back to him, he stabbed her with an unknown object. She then turned around and began punching him. She blacked out and when she woke up, she called a friend to take her to the medical center.
Slieff was interviewed at his residence. He was arrested and lodged in the Montmorency County Jail. Slieff waived his arraignment in the 88th District Court in Montmorency where he is charged with one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. His bond was set at $10,000 cash surety. His next scheduled court appearance is on June 18th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
