BIG RAPIDS, MI – On Monday June 14th, 2021, at approximately 1:14 P.M., BRDPS officers responded to the 500 block of S. State St. in reference to a possible stabbing.

Upon arrival, they found a 35-year-old man with an apparent stab wound to his upper chest. He was transported to Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital by Mecosta County EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 41-year-old woman who was on scene was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody. She was transported to the Mecosta County Jail and will be arraigned by the 77th District Court.

The Big Rapids Department of Public Safety was assisted on scene by Ferris DPS, the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan DNR, City of Big Rapids Rescue, and Mecosta County EMS.
