OTSEGO COUNTY, MI – In February 2020, the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post received a referral from MDHHS Children’s Protective Services of an alleged sexual abuse. The abuse was reported by a mandated reporter at a local school.

The child was interviewed by a forensic interviewer at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Roscommon. The suspect was an acquaintance of the victim and did not reside with him. The investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for 52-year-old Kevin Patrick Bailey of Gaylord on July 14, 2020. Troopers were unable to locate Bailey and requested assistance from the MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team. It was determined Bailey had left the state. Bailey was arrested in Wisconsin on April 14, 2021 for the outstanding warrant in Michigan. He was extradited and brought back to Otsego County on June 10, 2021.

Kevin Bailey was arraigned on June 11, 2021 in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on three counts Criminal Sexual Conduct Second Degree Victim Under 13. He was given no bond and remains lodged in the Otsego County Jail.
