Raisin Township, MI –  On Wednesday, June 9th, 2021, at approximately 9:20 pm, troopers from the Michigan State Police Monroe Post and officers from the Raisin Township Police Department were dispatched to the 2000 block of Laberdee Rd in Raisin Township, to investigate a shots fired complaint.  After arrival two men were found deceased at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.

The deceased subjects were identified as 24-year-old Kenya Dionne Niblack from Florida and 25-year-old Michael C. Madero from Raisin Township.  Both subjects were long time friends and according to witnesses, they got into an altercation and Niblack shot Madero and then took his own life.  The reason for the shooting is still under investigation by the Michigan State Police.

The Michigan State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Raisin Township Police Department, Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department, Madison Township Fire Department, and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.  

The Michigan State Police are asking anyone who may have additional information to contact the post at 734-242-3500.
