GRAND LEDGE, MI – At approximately 6:28 AM this morning, Tuesday June 15th, 2021, Troopers from the MSP Lakeview Post were requested to assist the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) with a traffic stop on a vehicle that was suspected in a pharmacy break-in in Kalamazoo.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle on eastbound I-96, in Ionia County. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

Troopers followed the suspect vehicle south on M-100, into the City of Grand Ledge, Eaton County. Troopers lost sight of the vehicle in the construction zone but located the vehicle a short time later, crashed into the deck of a residence. One suspect was taken into custody while a second suspect was on the loose.

Through the investigation and witness statements, a second suspect vehicle was identified with four additional occupants. This vehicle was located and stopped on I-96 near Lansing Road and all five individuals, including the outstanding suspect, were taken into custody without incident.

This incident remains under investigation by the DEA.
