ALPENA, MI – On Thursday, June 10th, 2021, at approximately 1:00 p.m., an Alpena woman went to the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post to report she was assaulted by her boyfriend. The alleged incident occurred earlier that day. He physically assaulted her twice and after the second time, she made an excuse to leave and had a relative pick her up. She then went to the state police post to make the report.
The boyfriend was on parole for domestic violence and/or knowingly assaulting a pregnant individual and assault with a dangerous weapon. The suspect’s parole agent was contacted, and a parole detainer was authorized. Troopers arrested the boyfriend, 23-year-old Hunter Terry Curry, at the residence and lodged him in the Alpena County Jail. An arrest warrant was issued by the Alpena County Prosecutor’s Office for the assault.
Hunter Curry was arraigned yesterday in the 88th District Court in Alpena County and is charged with one count Domestic Violence Third Offense, a felony. His bond was set at $50,000 cash surety. His next scheduled court appearance is on July 6th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
