DETROIT, MI – Gabriel Kieshaun Toler, 32-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Samuel Moran, 46-years-old, also of Detroit.
On April 3, 2021, at approximately 2:25 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 5810 block of Central Avenue in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon arrival officers located Samuel Moran in an alley behind the residence with a gunshot wound to the neck. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased. It is alleged that an argument between Gabriel Toler and Samuel Moran escalated and Toler allegedly fatally shot the victim.
Gabriel Toler has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Felon in Possession, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and two counts of Felony Firearm. He was arraigned yesterday in 36th District Court before Judge Dawn White. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 1, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for July 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in 36th District Court before Judge Kenneth King.
