OTSEGO COUNTY, MI – On Friday, June 18th, 2021, at approximately 1:20 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post stopped a vehicle on S Old US 27 Highway near Oak Grove Drive in Bagley Township for an equipment violation.
The driver was a 21-year-old man from Charlevoix and the passenger was identified as 56-year-old Nile Scott Hamp from Howard City. A search of Hamp and the area he was seated resulted in the recovery of approximately 26 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Hamp was placed under arrest and lodged in the Otsego County Jail.
Hamp was arraigned in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County for one count Controlled Substance Delivery of Methamphetamine. His bond was set at $2,000 cash surety. Hamp’s next schedule court appearance is on June 24, 2021.
