PONTIAC, MI – On Sunday June 20th, 2021, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and Star EMS responded to the 60 block of Stegman Lane on the report of a three-month-old female baby who was not conscious and not breathing.
Deputies arrived on the scene and immediately began administering CPR to the infant. Star EMS arrived on the scene and paramedics transported the infant to McLaren Oakland Hospital where a physician pronounced her deceased.
The infant’s mother stated to deputies that she and her twin infants had been sleeping in her bed together. She woke up to discover that one of the infants was not breathing. She stated to deputies that the twin infants had been born prematurely.
Detectives and an Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and began their respective investigations. The Medical Examiner took custody of the deceased and an autopsy has been scheduled. An OCSO Evidence Technician responded and processed the scene. Child Protective Services was contacted and advised of the incident.
