PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Sheriff Deputies, Star EMS and the Waterford Regional Fire Department on Sunday June 27th, 2021, responded to the 200 block of Voorheis Road on the report of a woman lying in the roadway who had sustained a head injury. The 911 caller reported that the victim had begun to walk away, and he assisted her to the curb until help arrived.
Upon arrival, deputies observed blood and swelling on the left side of the victim’s head. Thee 44-year-old Pontiac woman provided her name and date of birth but was unable to say what had happened. Paramedics transported the victim to McLaren Oakland Hospital for medical treatment.
Deputies noted blood in the roadway but did not see any skid marks or debris in the area. It is unknown at this time if she fell on her own or was possibly struck by a passing vehicle.
Deputies canvassed the area for surveillance cameras or witnesses, but it was without results. Once at McLaren Oakland Hospital, the victim’s condition deteriorated, and she is listed in critical condition. Detectives arrived on the scene and began their investigation which is still ongoing.
