PONTIAC, MI – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Crash Investigators Unit is seeking witnesses who may have seen a motorcycle crash that left a 14-year-old youth in critical condition.

The accident happened about 2:11 p.m. on Saturday July 3rd, 2021, at the intersection of South Jessie Street and Auburn Avenue in Pontiac.

The youth was operating a Zhejiang Apollo motorcycle north on South Jessie Street when he lost control. The youth and the motorcycle slid to a stop just north of Auburn. He was not wearing a helmet. The motorcycle was not properly equipped or registered for use on public streets. It was not immediately known how fast the motorcycle was traveling. The youth was taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital and later transferred to Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.
