MEADE TOWNSHIP, MI – On Monday July 5th, 2021, Huron County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a deadly incident at 5:49 a.m., on Crown Road in Meade Township.

A 68-year-old man being found dead with severe burns. Kenneth M. Periso had last been seen the night before burning brush and observing it from a chair near an out building. He resided at that residence with his brother and sister who had went to bed for the night. Kenneth remained outside having a few beers. Sadly, when his sister got up yesterday morning, she found him deceased and severely burned.

Preliminary findings of the deputies and Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office are indicating the victim accidentally fell into the fire and got himself back to the chair. At this time foul play is not being suspected and an autopsy has been ordered.
