TROY, MI – Terell Josey, 27-years-old, has been charged with Open Murder, Possession of Felony Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon in connection to a shooting that occurred on Monday July 5th, 2021 in the Shell Gas parking lot located at 3990 Rochester Road that claimed the life of Detroit Firefighter Francis Dombrowski.

Josey was arraigned this morning in 52-4 District Court in front of Judge Hartig where bond was denied. On July 5th, at 9:44pm, the Troy Police Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the parking lot of Shell Gas, 3990 Rochester Road. Responding officers arrived and found one male victim who had been injured. Officers and responding paramedics treated injuries on scene.

The victim, 55-year old Francis Dombrowski, of Rochester Hills, was transported to a local hospital where he died. Investigators learned that Dombrowski was involved in a traffic altercation with a white Jeep Cherokee which started in the area of Rochester Road and South Boulevard. The Jeep was occupied by a female driver and Josey, who was in the front passenger seat. The vehicles continued to engage each other southbound on Rochester and escalated in them both pulling into the Shell Gas parking lot at Wattles.

Gas station security video showed Josey and Dombrowski immediately confront each other which resulted in Dombrowski being shot three times in the upper torso. The driver of the Jeep remained in the vehicle. Josey then gets back into the Jeep which soon fled eastbound on Wattles.

In the early morning of June 6th, 2021, Josey and the female driver arrived at the Troy Police Department and identified themselves. A 9mm semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting was also recovered.
