DETROIT, MI – Six people have been shot in the 9800 block of Chalmers Street at the Chalmers Banquet Hall on July 13th, 2021. One of those individuals has died.
Police have said that the man who died was 30-years-old.
The shooting took place at the Chalmers Banquet Hall on Chalmers near East Outer Drive.
911 calls started coming into Central Dispatch at about 2:15 a.m. Upon arrival officers were told that two of the victims had already been taken to the hospital privately and that four were still on scene. They have all been transported to the hospital for treatment. One of those individuals is in critical condition. The other four are in stable condition. A total of three women and two men have survived the incident.
Detectives marked at least 20 casings at the scene. They believe this could have been a shootout.
It is currently unknown what lead up to the shooting and there is no information about the suspects at this time.
