DETROIT, MI – Michigan State Police Troopers were dispatched to a freeway shooting on EB I-96 near Scotten.  There was a call of two cars shooting at each other. There are two victims that were sent to the hospital.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a female driver and male passenger of a Chevy 4 door car were involved in a traffic altercation on a surface street in Detroit. A suspect vehicle followed them onto the freeway and fired multiple shots at the vehicle.

The suspect car then fled the area. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. It appears that they are not life threatening.

The freeway has been reopened. Further investigation revealed that the incident resulted from a traffic crash that occurred near a gas station on Schaefer. The suspect who was upset about the crash, followed the victims and attempted to shoot both of them.
