KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department on Friday July 9th, 2021 arrested two men from Detroit after a traffic stop and various drugs were located inside of their vehicle. They said Travae Harris, 38-years-old, and Tracy Shellie, 60-years-old, were both arrested. Both men are from Detroit.
KPD and the City of Knoxville said they received several complaints about people selling illegal drugs, possible prostitution and other issues around the area of Depot Avenue, Central Street and Magnolia Avenue. Community Engagement Response Team officers conducted saturation efforts in that area Friday night. Police said those complaints led to increased patrols, which then led to the arrest of Travae Harris and Tracy Shellie. During that, CERT officers stopped a vehicle on Magnolia near Gay Street. The two occupants were identified as Harris and Shellie.
In a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located and seized approximately 15 grams of crystal meth, four grams of crack cocaine, six grams of heroin and 22 grams of marijuana. All of the drugs were individually packaged for resale and the two subjects were charged with multiple drug offenses.
