GOULD CITY, MI – Troopers from the St. Ignace Post were dispatched to a residence in Gould City on July 19th, 2021, for a report of a suspicious situation. Upon arrival, troopers found several indicators of foul play.
Troopers contacted witnesses in the area which led to information regarding a possible homicide. A search warrant was then prepared and executed at the residence. Further investigation revealed a deceased man at the residence who had been shot. The homeowner was also located during this time and taken into custody.
The suspect, 42-year-old Brian Michael Webb, from Gould City, is currently being held in the Mackinac County Jail on an open murder charge. The victim, 30-year-old Johnathon Palmer, was from nearby Engadine. The suspect and victim were brothers.
Brian Webb was arraigned this afternoon in the 92nd District Court of Mackinac County on a single charge of Open Murder.
Troopers were assisted by deputies from the Mackinac County Sheriffs Dept as well as the MSP Forensic Lab, MSP Aviation Unit, and the MSP Emergency Support Team. The investigation is on-going and further information will be released at a later time.
