MACOMB COUNTY, MI – On Friday July 30th, 2021, Nicholas Frost, 42 years old, from Troy, was arraigned in the 42-1 District Court on a four count warrant after he used a crawl space to kidnap his 5 week old infant daughter:
- Unlawful Driving Away of Automobile
- Home Invasion
- Unlawful Imprisonment
- Child Abandonment
On Thursday July 29th, 2021, at approximately 7:10 AM, Michigan State Police troopers were dispatched to the 27000 block of Irwin Road, Richmond Township in Macomb County for a stolen vehicle complaint. Upon arrival troopers learned that a five week old girl was also missing.
Upon further investigation it was revealed that the child’s biological father came to the mothers home, snuck into the house by crawling under the house and entering a crawl space and kidnapped their 5 week old child. The man has no parental rights to the child.
The suspect stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene with the baby. The victim also indicted the suspect has mental health issues. A notice was sent to local departments with the description of the suspect and the child.
Troopers were in the process of issuing an Amber Alert when the child was found by Madison Heights Police after they were notified that workers at a local business heard a child crying. When they went to investigate, they located an infant on the sidewalk in a car seat.
Madison Heights fire department transported the child to the Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak to be evaluated and she has been reunited with her mother. The stolen vehicle was also recovered. A short time later Troy Police notified MSP that they had the suspect detained.
The child did not appear to be harmed.
