EASTPOINTE, MI – On Sunday August 1st, 2021, at approximately 6:00 pm, Eastpointe Police officers were dispatched to the 23000 block of Piper Ave regarding a fight between several women.

A short time later, dispatch informed responding officers that shots had been fired. Before officers could arrive, the suspects had fled in a silver Chevy Trail Blazer.

The investigation determined that two women, believed to be in their 20s, fought in front of the Piper address while the rest of the spectators watched. The fight was broken up by a man. It is unknown at this time what initiated the altercation.

Once the fight ended, one man and three women got into the Chevy Trail Blazer and fled. Moments later, they returned and opened fire at the residence. Five spent .45 caliber rounds were recovered. There were no injuries.
