EASTPOINTE, MI – On Monday August 2nd, 2021, Eastpointe Police officers responded to a home on Virginia regarding a larceny and assault that had transpired.
The victim stated that Landis Tyrone Blocker of Detroit was at her home to perform a variety of work. Instead of working, he elected to argue. As a result of this, he was asked to leave. Moments later he returned, and assaulted the victim in her yard. Blocker then entered the home and allegedly took money from a purse and a ring.
The victim’s dog became aggressive in order to protect her. Blocker did not like this so he elected to punch the dog in his face several times. Blocker then allegedly threw the victim down again as she tried to get up.
The police arrived and arrested Blocker a few blocks away without incident. Evidence was seized from him. Blocker was formally charged with the following: (victim and dog are ok)
Count 1: Larceny in a Building (felony)
Count 2: Assault and Battery (misdemeanor)
Count 3: Larceny-Less than $200
Landis Blocker was arraigned at the 38th District Court in Eastpointe. A bond of $10,000 c/s or 10% was imposed.
Based on records from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Landis Blocker has an extensive criminal history. It is unusual why he has not one but two profiles in the corrections department public database. Blocker has previous felony convictions for the following:

- Criminal Sexual Conduct, 3rd Deg (Multiple Variables)
- Stolen Property – Receiving and Concealing – Motor Vehicle
- 2 counts of Retail Fraud – 1st Degree
- Controlled Substance-Delivery/Manf., Nar/Coc <50 Grams – Attempt
- Controlled Substance-Delivery/Manf., Nar/Coc <50 Grams
