CHESTER TOWNSHIP, MI – On September 14th 2021, at 2:45 AM, deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office along with firefighters from Chester Township, Casnovia, and Rockford all responded to a structure fire at Grose Park located at 22200 24th Avenue in Chester Township of Ottawa County.

The preliminary investigation at the scene showed that a storage building at the park containing several maintenance vehicles sustained heavy fire damage before the fire was extinguished by responding fire departments. During further investigation at the park, deputies found that nearby restroom fixtures were intentionally damaged by unknown suspects.

A Michigan State Police Arson investigator is working with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Detectives to continue the investigation.
