SHELBINA, MO - A Detroit man was arrested in Missouri on Monday December 24th, 2018 after a high-speed chase.\r\nHisham Mansoor, 25-years-old, of Detroit, was arrested on Monday afternoon at 3:55 a.m.\r\nOn Sunday evening the Shelbina Police Department was alerted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, of a white Camaro traveling eastbound on U.S. 36 in excess of 100 MPH. Shelbina Police Officers clocked the vehicle\u2019s speed at 94 MPH when they attempted to stop it, but the driver increased speed and Shelbina Officer terminated the pursuit.\r\nPolice state, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers located the vehicle traveling at speeds over 100 MPH and were attempting to stop the vehicle near Monroe City. The suspect turned around traveling westbound on U.S. 36, as Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop.\r\nA Shelbina Police Officer attempted to use a tire deflation device, as the vehicle traveled westbound on U.S. 36. The suspect erratically drove in the direction of the officer and missed the tire deflation device. He then exited onto Missouri 15, and attempted to turn north, crashing into the guardrail. He continued north, and stopping at the Shelbina Lake boat ramp, and fleeing on foot. Officers located the vehicle, and Shelbina Police K-9 unit began tracking the suspect.\r\nThe Shelbina and Ralls County K-9 units tracked the suspect while a perimeter was put in place. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Aircraft Division assisted locating the suspect with the use of the FLIR system.\r\nHisham Mansoor was located and arrested for assault 2nd degree (special victim), property damage 1st degree, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, and exceeding the posted speed limit.\r\nMansoor was transported to the Shelby County Sheriffs Department and was being held on a 24-hour hold pending a warrant.\r\nThe incident is still under investigation and additional charges are pending.\r\nThe Shelbina Police Department was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ralls County Sheriff\u2019s Department K-9 unit, Shelby County Sheriff\u2019s Department, Macon County Sheriff\u2019s Department, Troop B Dispatch, Shelby County Dispatch, the Shelbina Fire Department.
