TRAVERSE CITY, MI - It took five months for the investigation to conclude but Jesus Ricardo Rodriguez-Maturino, 23-years-old, who is a Garfield Township man, has been arrested and charged with multiple felony internet crimes.\r\nTraverse City Police were contacted by a 21-year-old woman in May who reported that the suspect contacted her via Instagram and asked her for nude photos.\u00a0 When she refused, the suspect allegedly threatened to publicly expose other nude photos he reportedly had of her.\r\nAuthorities stated the suspect got the original photos from a website where users can post anonymously. The pictures on that website have been removed.\u00a0 The person who posted those photos has not yet been determined.\r\nIt was around the same time that the original complaint was received by Traverse City Police that a resident of the Alpena area contacted Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force detectives about a Tumblr blog.\u00a0 He reported the blog showed multiple upskirt videos of female victims in the Traverse City area.\r\nThe Traverse City Police Department and the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force immediately, but separately, began investigating the 23-year-old man.\r\nDuring the investigation, Traverse City Police Department detectives and Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force detectives determined the suspect was the same person on both Instagram and Tumblr.\r\nDetectives did an initial search the suspect\u2019s home in July and found a digital device at that time. The suspect admitted to producing the Tumblr blog and recording the videos. During a secondary\u00a0 search of the suspect's residence detectives\u00a0found child pornography.\r\nJesus Ricardo Rodriguez-Maturino was arrested on October 19th, 2015. He appeared Tuesday morning, October 20th, 2015 for arraignment in 86th District Court.\r\nHe is charged with six counts of extortion, two counts of using computer to commit a crime and two counts of having child pornography and capturing images of an unclothed person.\r\nRodriguez-Maturino is being held in Grand Traverse County's jail on a $500,000 bond.
