EAST CHINA TOWNSHIP, MI - Two East China Township sisters stole two cars and broke into several others late Saturday night, September 12th, 2015, and early Sunday morning, September 15th, 2015. They were caught after crashing one of the cars.\r\nAccording to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the girls, ages 16 and 14 snuck out of their home in the late evening hours Saturday night. They went into the city of St. Clair, where they stole their first vehicle in the area of Pine Shores Golf Course. The pair drove the vehicle to the Marine City area and eventually ran out of gas in the area of Starville and Shea Roads in Cottrellville Township.\r\nThey then stole another car from residence on Starville Road around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The 16 year old driver lost control of that vehicle, going into a ditch and striking a tree. Deputies from the Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to the crash site. The girls walked away prior to deputies arrival and were located by Tri-Hospital EMS near the first vehicle they took. They were transported to St. John\u2019s River District Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.\r\nThe owners of the vehicles were contacted. The owner of the car stolen from Starville Road discovered several items that didn\u2019t belong to him in the trunk of the vehicle. The items are believed to have been taken from vehicles that were broken into in East China Township by the sisters.\r\nThe girls are currently in custody. They face a hearing in St. Clair County Circuit Court Family Division-Juvenile this afternoon, Monday, September 14th, 2015.\r\nThe investigation continues into the vehicle break-ins.
