MT. PLEASANT, MI - A Central Michigan University student is dead today following a hit and run accident that occurred on Sunday, November 1st, 2015, just after midnight, south of the school's campus.\r\n\r\nThe 17-year-old freshman, Ryan Tsatsos, of Macomb Township, was walking northbound on South\u00a0Crawford Road between Billabrail and Concourse streets in Union Township\u00a0with a few friends when he was struck by a car.\r\nMichigan State Police stated that one of the friends that was walking with Ryan Tsatsos said that Ryan pushed her out of the way of the vehicle that killed him.\r\nTroopers say that friend then left the scene before police and medical personnel arrived. She was found by MSP several hours later and refused medical treatment.\r\nThe area has no sidewalks and is poorly lit.\u00a0 Tsatsos was pronounced dead at the scene.\r\nThe driver of that vehicle did not stop.\u00a0 Police are asking for help from the public to locate the driver and the car.\r\nThe vehicle is described as a dark-colored, older 4-door sedan that would have passenger-side damage.\u00a0 Police are looking through traffic camera images from the surrounding areas to get a definite description of the car.\r\nTragically, only 3 months ago, the brother of Ryan Tsatso,\u00a0Darryl Tsatsos, then 19-years-old, died on July 26th, 2015, in a three-vehicle crash.\r\nA sheriff\u2019s deputy was in pursuit of Tsatsos\u2019 Pontiac G6 along northbound Hayes Road about 1:25 a.m. on that Sunday morning.\r\nThe deputy had tried to pull over Darryl Tsatsos for speeding near Hall and Hayes roads in Macomb County.\r\nAt some point, the deputy broke off the chase. Moments later, the deputy arrived at the scene of the crash along Hayes Road near Snowbird Street in Macomb Township.\r\nAccording to police, Tsatsos\u2019 vehicle collided with a Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a GMC Terrain sport utility vehicle.\r\nDarryl Tsatsos was transported to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.\r\n\r\nThe parents of these young men have now lost their only two children to tragic circumstances.\r\nA $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed Ryan Tsatsos.\u00a0\u00a0Crime Stoppers is offering the $1,000 award.\r\n\r\nA GoFundMe account has been established by Kelsey Alafriz to assist the family with expenses.\u00a0 Currently $22,035.00 has been donated.\r\nAnyone with information on this crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-422-5245, Michigan State Police Mount Pleasant Post at 989-773-5951 or their anonymous tip line at 877-616-4677.\r\nObituary\r\nTSATSOS, Ryan Edward\r\nNovember 1, 2015.
